Although the college had covered them both independently for their success in film and television, it was exciting to discover alumni Zazie Beetz ’13 and David Miner ’91 would both be at the 2017 Emmy Awards as nominees in the same category. Beetz starred in Atlanta while Miner produced both Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt and Master of None. Publishing this story was an opportunity to ride the coattails of national news while highlighting how Skidmore contributed to both Beetz and Miner’s careers and ultimate success. I chose to include an Instagram photo embed from Ryan Reynolds as well as a past This is Skidmore podcast with Miner to add to the context of the story.
