Disappointed.

This post is going to be filled with me complaining about things that I can easily resolve. I’m well aware of that, but in an effort to blog more about what’s going on in my life, I’m going to post about it.

I read somewhere (probably on Pinterest because it was all artsy and odd looking) “Never miss a Monday, never take three days off in a row, and work out at least three times a week.” I was feeling inspired and challenged myself to follow it. Let’s see how I did this week, shall we?

Sunday: went to the gym and tried out some wacko elliptical-style machine instead of running. Cardio – check! Told myself that doing 50 crunches was enough and left.

Monday: Needed to go food shopping and cleaned my apartment…clearly no time for exercise.

Tuesday: 65 minutes of cardio at spinning, phew! Let me go eat Chipotle to congratulate myself. Nice job Jackie.

Wednesday: Had to give a presentation after work, no time. (That’s ok…it’s just one day off, right?)

Thursday: Class right after work until 9:00…asleep by 10.

And that brings us to today. On my way home from work I actively convinced myself that it was “too cold” (nearly 50 degrees…) and “too rainy” (just cloudy) to go on a run, as well as told myself that I “really should clean my entire apartment” (currently sitting on my couch blogging and watching TV). Nice job Jackie. Nice.

Hence the title of this post. Disappointed. I’m disappointed in myself for not lacing up my sneakers after work and at least going out for a short run, and for how easily I can talk myself out of anything that’s healthy for me. I keep saying that I want to sign up for a 10-mile race or even a half marathon, but I’m not sure where I’ll be able to get the motivation to train, or why I don’t have it now.

As I said in the beginning of the post, I’m well aware there’s a solution to this “problem” I’m having; get up and do it. I’m going to try to fix it with this blog post, because people always say that when you say things out loud you’re more likely to do it. So, readers, I’m saying it out loud to you that this week I won’t miss a Monday, take more than three days off, and I will exercise at least three times this week.
