Today I was running late to work, and I was staring at my closet without a clue of what to wear. I grabbed a shirt I hadn’t worn in a while, which I love to pair with my dark red denim pants. I was super excited when colored denim became a thing, don’t ask me why.
I haven’t worn these pants in a while, and I used to have to wear them with a belt because I have constantly had a bigger waist and thin legs. So, in a rush, I threw on my pants, grabbed a belt, and was floored. The pants were huge, and I had to tighten the belt all the way to the last notch – four more than I used to. Woah. I felt like one of those “after” pictures in weight-loss pill commercials. It was such a good feeling. As of right now, I’m down 17 pounds. That’s heavier than some Thanksgiving turkeys. I usually get hung up on the small disappointments along the way, and I forget about the bigger picture. I’ve made some awesome life changes, and the results are starting to become visible. New problem: none of my clothes fit me anymore. Good problem, but also a bad problem…because money is tight right now.
I found thredup.com which ended up giving me close to $40 for my old clothes, but then took $10 back to cover the shipping to return the items that didn’t sell back to me. Ah well, money is money. It’s also a great place to buy nice clothes that are gently used. I recommend it! 🙂 In the spirit of the giving season, I plan to go through my entire closet, try everything on, and sell/donate everything that doesn’t have the slightest chance of fitting me anymore. Anyone who would like to help in this adventure is welcome to!
