Happy 2014!

Drop the ball, pop the champagne, it’s 2014! December 31st always causes people to reflect and create resolutions that often are forgotten by April, so naturally I’ll do the same. 2013 overall was a great year full of big changes for me, including new friends, entering the working world, and moving to my own apartment.

On January 1st, 2013 I made a box with the intention of filling it with artifacts of the great parts of 2013. I wrote things on scrap paper, threw in fun items, and left myself little notes for me to read on December 31st.

Some of the moments I distinctly remember, such as my first ever 5K race, organizing a day of community service, a trip to Biloxi to help with hurricane relief, or starting my job, but it was awesome to read notes about those little moments that made me smile throughout the year. 2013 was pretty great to me, and I hope that my box for 2014 is filled with even more positive notes than this one!

I’m not one to make resolutions, but I think it’s fitting for me to re-start my original intention back when I started this blog. If I choose one new habit, try something healthy, or even do something for my mental well-being each month, I know that 2014 is going to be great! So, this month I plan to find one of those 30-day challenges that are all over Pinterest. Wish me luck! Any recommendations for a month challenge or change is also greatly appreciated!

Happy 2014, everyone!
